About the collections



Welcome to the Gerth Archives and Special Collections Digital Collections. In these collections are digitized images and text from the department's collections. Topics covered include the university, the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, history-rich Rancho San Pedro and the Dominguez Family who owned it, the 1910 International Air Meet at Dominguez Field, and the Long Beach Fireman's Historical Museum photographic collection.

 

More recent additions include images and text from the Tradeswomen Collection, documenting the historic growth of women working in non-traditional trades in California and around the world, and Japanese American incarceration as part of the California State University Japanese American Digitization Project with over 10,000 items.
